The Strathleven corridor is bounded by Dumbarton in the south, Balloch on the shores of Loch Lomond in the north and includes the towns of Bonhill, Renton and Alexandria.
The area has been shaped by a rich heritage of heavy engineering, shipbuilding, dyeing of textiles and whisky distilling. The map has changed in recent years with the decline in some of these major industries but the area has much to offer. It is the gateway to the West Highlands, offering many tourist and leisure opportunities, excellent road and rail transport links to Glasgow, Glasgow Airport and beyond. There is also a skilled and flexible workforce available.
Strathleven is located within West Dunbartonshire; find out more about the area by downloading a full review of the Download social_and_economic_profile.pdf (PDF, 1.38 Mb).
