Welcome to Strathleven Regeneration - our new website is currently being developed and will be ready soon.Strathleven Regeneration Company was formed in 2000 with the support of Diageo, West Dunbartonshire Council and Scottish Enterprise, to bring about the economic regeneration of the site of the former J&B whisky bottling plant at Dumbarton. The £135 million Lomondgate project is being delivered through a joint venture with property developers, Walker Group (Scotland)Ltd. Lomondgate has a world class location at a gateway to Loch Lomond & the Trossachs National Park, only 30 minutes from Glasgow city centre, and 15 minutes to Glasgow Airport. It occupies a strategic site on the A82 and half of Scotland's population is within an hour's drive. The completed project will include 300 new homes, 'destination' roadside services and a high quality business park - offering great opportunities to invest, live, work and visit. It is independently forecast that the project will add over £500 million of value to the region's economy by 2019 and that Lomondgate will accommodate 2,000 jobs. Lomondgate is home to BBC Scotland’s studios and River City set (which can be toured). In January 2011 Whitbread Group opened a 60 bedroom Premier Inn hotel and a Brewers Fayre pub/restaurant, the Malt & Myre, creating 46 jobs. In February 2012 Scotland’s first drive-through Costa coffee outlet opened for business, employing around 20 people. The hotel, pub/restaurant and Costa provide great new amenities for the community, for visitors and for local businesses. Lomondgate Services offers further development opportunities including sites for a petrol filling station, a visitor/tourism facility, food outlets and visitor information & orientation. Aggreko – the world’s leading provider of temporary power solutions – had developed a £22million state-of-the-art manufacturing facility at Lomondgate which was officially opened by HRH The Princess Royal on 25 April 2012 and will employ some 400 people. This investment will retain 120 jobs locally and includes the creation of 110 jobs designing, developing and manufacturing power generators and temperature control equipment to be deployed by Aggreko around the world. The new facility consists of a 165,000 square feet production building and 25,000 square feet of office space built to a bespoke design to meet the requirements of the company’s manufacturing processes. The residential element of Lomondgate will span 30 acres, and developed by three housebuilders. Walker Group started on site in early January 2011 and will create 109 new homes at The Maltings. Persimmon Homes have also commenced developemnt of thier 119 houses and flats on their 8.5 acre Lomondgate site. Walker Group and Persimmon Homes have 75 houses completed or under construction. In late 2011 Taylor Wimpey acquired the third housing site at Lomondgate and commenced site preparation works for their ‘Fairways’ development of 110 family homes in June 2012. In April 2012 renowned public artist Andy Scott unveiled his sculpture, of a stag standing at the water’s edge, creating a new landmark at Lomondgate The Lomondgate partners will be announcing numbers of new developments in the near future.
